Havana Brown Description

The Havana Brown's most obvious characteristic is its beautiful brown short coat. It is a cat of the Siamese body type, but with a head longer than it is wide, narrowing to a rounded muzzle. The eyes are green, and the ears tilt forward slightly. The coat is short, colored chestnut to mahogany. No other coat color and no patterned coats are accepted.



Havana Brown History

The first recognized solid brown cats were imported into England from Europe by a British cat fancier named Mrs. French in 1894. In the 1950's, the Baroness von Ullman of England began a rigorous breeding program to establish this breed.

The Havana Brown is an inquisitive, active cat, but is not destructive. This breed is vocal, with a soft, pleasant voice.
